No named statewide write-in roster
Rhode Island does not require a declaration to run as a write-in candidate for any office. The Board of Elections therefore does not publish a closed pre-election list of approved names. General-election ballots allow a write-in where applicable, but no officially registered statewide names are added to the 15 printed choices.
Coverage boundary: This guide includes Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, General Treasurer, and U.S. Senator because every Rhode Island voter can vote in those contests. U.S. House, General Assembly, municipal, school, and local contests are excluded because they vary by district or locality. Declared candidates whose official row says On Election Ballot N, withdrawn candidates, primary-only candidates, and unprinted names are not restored by inference. Read the full coverage boundary.
