One standard for every candidate.

Disgust with opaque politics is a reason to investigate carefully. It is not proof that any person broke a law. The reader should be able to follow each finding to the original record.

Money is recorded in different ledgers

Candidate receipts, a committee’s incoming contributions, its payments, loans, in-kind support and independent expenditures are different facts. Some are multiple reports of the same transfer. We label the payer, recipient, reporting period, filed type and report ID where known. We do not add these ledgers as if they were separate dollars.

Conflicts require a documented connection

A donor’s name, an administrative PAC contact or a candidate’s business interest does not by itself prove control, a conflict or an official favor. A conflict profile needs verified identities, dated disclosure or business records, the relevant official decision and an explanation of what remains uncertain. Gaps stay visible

Missing reports are marked unknown. State campaign filings do not complete federal campaign finance. A public filing can omit an unitemized small contribution or paper schedule. Candidate and committee pages name the source window and the date we last checked it.

How the guide grows

Nevada’s election and finance guide is the first full state section. Additional state pages stay marked as preparation until there is verified content to publish. For current election rules and ballots in other states, use the official state and local election office finder or the Federal Election Commission.

Coverage and corrections

Nevada’s coverage ledger distinguishes direct original-report links from official search links and names what is outside the dataset. The corrections log records fixes. W4USA Network publishes W4POLITICS; its public desk accepts corrections with the exact page and supporting record.
