Election timeline

  1. Voter registration deadline

    Register or update your Arkansas voter record by the statewide deadline.

  2. Sample ballot publication deadline

    County clerks must make sample ballots available through VoterView by this date.

  3. Early voting begins

    Standard hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Check your county clerk for locations and any additional hours.

  4. Mail, fax, or email absentee application deadline

    The county clerk must receive an application sent by mail, fax, or email by this date.

  5. In-person absentee deadlines

    This is the deadline for an in-person, designated-bearer, or administrator application and for personal or designated-bearer delivery of a voted absentee ballot.

  6. Early voting ends

    Regular early voting closes at 5 p.m. on the Monday before Election Day.

  7. General Election Day and absentee receipt deadline

    Polls are open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mailed absentee ballots and ballots delivered by an authorized agent must reach the county clerk by 7:30 p.m.

  8. Military and overseas ballot receipt deadline

    A qualifying UOCAVA ballot must be signed and mailed by Election Day and received by this deadline.

On the ballot

4 statewide issues

The Secretary of State lists four General Assembly referrals and no Attorney General-certified citizen initiative for the 2026 general election. Read the official measure text before voting.

  • Issue 1Would limit voting in state and local elections to United States citizens who meet Arkansas elector qualifications, effective January 1, 2027.
  • Issue 2Would revise the state constitutional right to keep and bear arms, including lawful hunting, recreation, ammunition, accessories, and components, effective January 1, 2027.
  • Issue 3Would allow the General Assembly to create economic development districts and authorize specified loans, grants, bonds, and tax provisions.
  • Issue 4Would authorize up to $500 million in general obligation bonds for water, waste disposal, and pollution abatement facilities, including up to $165 million for irrigation. Issuance would generally be limited to $60 million in a two-year period without prior legislative approval.
