Selected 2026 report periods, observed October 3, 2026 UTC

Loading the account comparison. Sample rows and complete source downloads remain available below.

Selected candidate report-category sums, not donor/payee transactions or full-campaign totals. Only verified non-overlapping periods are included. Cash Contributions and Expenditures use their literal source categories; personal contributions, loans, noncash and returned contributions remain separate. Excluded reports are not zero, and these bars do not establish a cash balance. Missing amounts are not zero. These are separate ledgers, not net cash or unique dollars. Transfers can appear on both sides. Bar length shows magnitude; negative amounts are labeled and striped.

Source-bounded coverage

What these account amounts mean

The observed 2026-election metadata contained 2,737 selected report names containing 2026 across 1,060 exact filer/campaign ID pairs. The 2,267 included reports cover 947 accounts and pass explicit-family, non-overlapping-period and exact financial controls. The 470 excluded reports remain listed in the status download; 113 accounts have no included amounts. This is a selected candidate-report snapshot, not all South Carolina political money.

The source cash, personal, loan, noncash, refund and expense categories stay separate. Source Total fields reconcile components but are never published as additional money rows. Beginning/ending balances and cumulative election-cycle fields are not summed as flows. The generated category key combines the official report ID with direction and category; it is not an official transaction ID. Reports were observed separately, not in an atomic snapshot. For 59 reports, a later expenditure-date observation matched the original count and sums; this is not proof that every underlying transaction was unchanged.

Public-interest analysis only, not commercial solicitation or a contact list. Individual counterparties, addresses, phone/email, employer, occupation, bank and free-text payment details are not published in this summary release.

6 candidate matches remain unavailable

An unavailable match is not a zero-dollar filing and does not prove that no committee exists.

Why the identifier matters

Names alone are not enough

  1. Start with the ballot entryThe printed candidate and office define the research target.
  2. Verify the reporting accountA public committee, filer, candidate, or organization ID is stronger than a name-only match.
  3. Keep ledgers separateState reports and FEC summaries use different fields, periods, and definitions.
  4. Leave gaps visibleUnavailable, paper-only, and uncertain records never become zero.
National view: Compare publication coverage across all 50 states. Dollar totals are not combined when reporting periods or field definitions differ.
